Insurance
North
Suburban Pulmonary accepts
Medicare, Lutheran General Health Partners contracted parties,
commercial indemnity insurance, and most PPO in coverage. We
accept Medicaid only when it is secondary to Medicare.
It is our policy to collect patient co-payments at the time of service. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

Payment It
is the patient's
responsibility to pay for treatment. Most of our patients are
covered by private insurance or by Medicare, so that much of the cost
of treatment is actually paid by third parties. As a
convenience
to our patients, we routinely bill insurance companies, Advocate Health
Partners, Medicare and other third parties directly.
This does not mean that it is not your responsibility to pay our fees, just that we handle the paperwork for you when an insurer is involved. When there are deductibles, copayments, or other amounts not covered by insurance, we expect patients to pay these costs promptly. In the case of Medicare, the amounts we are allowed to collect are limited as a matter of law; but these amounts do not necessarily reflect the true cost of providing the service. Please be aware that we are bound by contracts with insurance plans and by law with Medicare, to charge and accept copayments. We are not permitted to waive these charges. The cost of medical care is a serious matter for patients and providers alike. North Suburban Pulmonary and Critical Care Consultants understand that paperwork can be complex, that dealing with insurance companies and health plans is difficult and frequently overwhelming. We are glad to be able to help you deal with this responsibility. |
