Our
Mission
Our Mission is to provide the highest
quality care for patients with lung disease or critical
illness. We seek to provide
the most up-to-date care
available, making our decisions in partnership with our patients and
their families.
Through this partnership we will
promote patient autonomy and self-reliance. Our assessments
and plans are intended to arrive at the correct diagnosis with a
minimum of diagnostic tests, and in the most non-invasive way
possible.
In this regard, we will attempt to
minimize pain and discomfort. We will promote improved
respiratory health by stressing avoidance of tobacco products, proper
nutrition and encouragement of exercise.
For our patients with terminal disease,
we will help them in the dying process by relief of pain and
dyspnea. Dignity at the end of life will be highly
regarded.
We will help promote the patient's
search for meaning and understanding of their disease and also to
encourage as much patient education and opportunity for self-reliance
and self-control as circumstances will allow.
